Getting to know Caleb Jones

Hobbies: playing billiards, origami, making sushi

Favorite Food: sushi and Maryland crab cakes

Most Memorable/Scariest Musical Experience:
A few years ago I was given three weeks to learn and perform Elliot Carter's Enchanted Preludes for a concert. This work is a duo for cello and flute which includes many metric modulations and extremely challenging technical passages. After many arduous hours of practice and rehearsal we were able to successfully perform the piece.

What I Enjoy Most about Being a Young Artist:
I honestly I enjoy the work that goes into being a Young Artist; the collaboration of artistic ideas and ideals with other artists is very enriching. I feel like I am constantly in search of inspiration, so that I can be a great source of inspiration to my colleagues and audience members. One thing that I have learned is that great artists are able to find inspiration through life's simplest pleasures.
